On Easter Sunday, there were 49 road accidents in which six people lost their lives and 59 others were injured, the representative stated. A total of 248 drunk drivers were arrested on the day.
The spokesperson stressed that a driver driving under the influence of alcohol “loses driving licence on the spot”.
“They cannot drive anymore. They are stopped and their driving licence is taken away from them,” the representative added.
According to police statistics, during Easter 2018, overall 23 people died on Polish roads from Good Friday to Easter Monday night, and 303 were injured.
