At 6am CEST, a cargo MD 11 plane had to land at the airport due to the fire in one of its engines. “The fire was extinguished very quickly. No one was hurt during the entire operation,” the airport press service reported.
All the operations were resumed after 30 minutes; however, the closure could result in short delays of take-offs and landings.
Just a few hours later, a second plane had to make an emergency landing at the airport. The pilot of passenger Embraer noticed technical problems and asked for the assistance of rescue services on the runway.
The aircraft with 90 passengers on board landed safely. Nobody was hurt, but the activities of the services again halted takeoffs and landings at the airport.
