Companies will need most staff in the IT, industrial production and customer service departments, while staffing reductions can be expected in administration and office management, according to the report entitled “Skills Revolution 4.0: Do robots need people?” (in Polish: Rewolucja umiejętności 4.0. Czy roboty potrzebują ludzi?).
The digitisation process will spur 13 percent of Polish companies to increase employment over the next two years, 74 percent will maintain the current staffing levels and seven percent will reduce headcount.
Six percent do not know what effect the process will have on their employment.
Digitisation does not aim to replace people with machines, but to increase companies’ efficiency and their competitive edge, ManpowerGroup’s Iwona Janas was quoted as saying in the company’s news release.
Out of the six analysed sectors, automation processes will affect industrial production and IT most.
ManpowerGroup’s survey covered 19,417 companies from 44 countries, including 301 Polish employers.
