“Our cooperation is exemplary, and since it’s going so well, we’ll get through this election together, too,” said Hołownia.

He added that the parties would create joint lists in all constituencies and that the Third Way would represent those who may not be fully enthusiastic about the EU but who, at the same time, are not in favor of leaving the bloc.

“We want to go to Europe to deal with Polish issues, which are important for Polish entrepreneurs, researchers, students, and producers pragmatically,” Hołownia declared.

The coalition, which previously cooperated in parliamentary and local elections, is now gearing up for the EP elections. Kosiniak-Kamysz reiterated the importance of Poland’s presence in the EU as a measure of patriotism,

“The measure of our patriotism today is our presence in the EU. Patriotism and the EU are not in contradiction, but complement each other.” he assessed

The Third Way’s program for the EP elections is to prioritize security, EU involvement in armaments production, rapid response actions, and cooperation initiatives aimed at bolstering the security of both Poland and the EU.

The coalition plans to field 130 candidates across all electoral districts, aiming to unite the voters under the common goal of strengthening Poland’s position within the EU. “We may differ, but we know that the common denominator, which is the strength of Poland in the EU, was one of the foundations of our coalition’s creation,” Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized.

According to him, the strength of the coalition on the political scene would be greater than it is currently if it achieves a double-digit result in the EP elections. “We are combining our forces, in my opinion, not for the last year,” he added.

This year’s European Parliament election is scheduled across member states from June 6-9, 2024. Poles will elect 53 Polish MEPs on June 9.
