Polish pilot program ‘Education with the Army’ set to involve 3,500 schools: def min A new initiative called “Education with the Army” is set to begin in primary and secondary schools, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Polish defense minister, has announced.

A new initiative called “Education with the Army” is set to begin in primary and secondary schools, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Polish defense minister, has announced.

The project aims to educate primary and secondary school students on safety and prepare them for potential threats.

The pilot program is expected to involve 3,500 schools.

During a press conference held in Warsaw, Kosiniak-Kamysz spoke about the significance of security and said that it involved not only a well-equipped military but also the resilience and strength of society as a whole.

He added that “individuals across all age groups, from young children to senior citizens, need to be prepared to effectively tackle diverse challenges.”

He went on to say that the primary goal of schools should be to provide students with essential knowledge and skills, as well as how to handle emergencies.

“So, to enhance the security of Poland, we came to the common conclusion that we need to implement security education into schools, to educate students about the military in schools, to demonstrate proper crisis response protocols, and teach basic first aid skills.”

“Why, for children, why are we starting so early?” he asked rhetorically. “Because when it comes to safety… we need to be always prepared and never caught off guard.”

He argued that the presence of the army in schools, as well as its involvement in lessons, aims to educate, discipline, equip, and enhance the resilience of Polish society, particularly young students in primary and secondary schools.

“The army’s role is to ensure society’s preparedness for potential threats, thereby providing a sense of safety for children and their parents,” he concluded.
