“FC Barcelona has finalized one of the most talked-about transfers in the women’s football market, acquiring Ewa Pajor, a 27-year-old forward from Wolfsburg… the Polish player will wear the colors of Barca starting next season, and this will happen after a record transfer worth nearly half a million euros,” Mundo Deportivo reported on Monday.

“Pajor will be the most expensive acquisition in the history of women’s Barcelona, after the arrival of Keira Walsh [in 2022 from Manchester City - PAP], for whom less than €400,000 was paid,” it added.

Earlier, information about Pajor’s planned transfer was reported by the German website AZ/WAZ Sport.

However, the transfer still has not been 100% confirmed. The Polish athlete has long been considered one of the best attackers in Europe. She has been playing for VfL Wolfsburg since 2015, having previously played for Medyk Konin.

Last October, Pajor was ranked 18th in France Football magazine’s prestigious poll for the world's best female player for the 2022/23 season, becoming the first Pole ever to be nominated in the poll [among the world’s top 30 female players].

Last season she reached the final of the Women’s Champions League with Wolfsburg, having just lost to Barcelona 2:3 (despite leading 2:0 at the break). She scored one of the goals in that match. She is also captain of the national team.

Since July 2022, the star of Barcelona’s men’s team has been none other than our captain of the white-and-red national team, Robert Lewandowski.
