This marks the second leg of President Duda’s week-long trip to North America. Now, he is to visit two Canadian provinces: British Columbia and Alberta.

He has scheduled a meeting with Prime Minister Trudeau at the Canadian navy base in Esquimalt, a key item on his agenda. Ahead of his departure, Duda expressed his intentions, stating, “We will discuss the upcoming NATO summit, the security of Europe, how to better support Ukraine, but above all, I want to discuss the idea of ​​increasing NATO defense spending from 2 to 3% of GDP.”

The office of the Canadian Prime Minister has highlighted that discussions between Duda and Trudeau will also encompass bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas such as energy security and clean energy production.
Trudeau affirmed the strong ties between Canada and Poland, stating, “Canada and Poland are good friends and faithful allies. I expect the deepening of cooperation between our countries.”

“Together, we will defend peace and security within the NATO alliance, remain committed to supporting Ukraine, and create good jobs and opportunities for the residents of Canada and Poland,” he added.

During his visit to Canada, the Polish president will also engage with representatives from hydrogen companies, emphasizing Poland’s role as a significant player in hydrogen production.

“We are the third producer of hydrogen in the EU, the fifth in the world,” he pointed out, revealing that the upcoming discussions will revolve around the advancement of modern hydrogen technologies, including their application in the automotive industry.

Additionally, the visit program includes meetings with the Polish community in Vancouver and Edmonton.
