The world's number 1, who saw off Elise Mertens in the previous round, won her 10th match in a row in Stuttgart. Last year, she beat Aryna Sabalenka in the final, but it will not repeat now as the Belarusian was knocked out by Marketa Vondrousova earlier today.

Her next opponent on Saturday will be Rybakina, fourth in the world ranking, who eliminated Italian Jasmine Paolini 6:3, 5:7, 6:3. The Pole has played against Kazakhstan five times so far. She won two matches, including the last one in the final of this year's WTA tournament in Dubai.
